transformation to a scalable Azure microservices platform To support its rapid growth and improve platform reliability, Brincr, a Dutch software company specializing in wholesale management, partnered with CloudNation to modernize its Azure environment. What started as a single, monolithic setup evolved into a fully scalable, secure, and future-ready microservices platform, built for performance and continuous innovation.  ![Right Banner size (11)-1](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/Right%20Banner%20size%20(11)-1.png) ### **About Brincr ** Brincr (acquired by the Visma Group in 2021) provides a platform that helps trading and wholesale companies simplify their operations. With its all-in-one platform, businesses can manage orders, stock, and invoicing seamlessly, enabling them to scale efficiently without losing control.    ### The Challenge Brincr’s entire application, including the frontend, portal, API, and background jobs, was running as a single container within Azure App Service.  This monolithic setup limited scalability, slowed deployments, and made it difficult to maintain flexibility as the customer base grew.  Performance issues and longer release cycles began to impact user experience and operational efficiency. Brincr needed a modern, scalable foundation that could support its rapid growth, without adding complexity or cost. ### **The solution**  Together with Brincr, CloudNation designed and implemented a microservices-based architecture on Microsoft Azure.  Each application component, frontend, portal, API, and background jobs, was separated into its own Azure Container App, allowing independent scaling and simplified maintenance.    **Key elements included:**  - Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for consistent and repeatable deployments  - CI/CD automation through GitHub Actions  - Azure Application Gateway with Web Application Firewall (WAF) and SSL offload for secure traffic management  - Azure Redis Cache and Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server for performance and reliability  - Azure Monitor and DataDog for observability and alerting  - Training the development team to handle the architecture  ***Security, scalability, and visibility were central to every design decision. ***   ### **The results**  Brincr now runs on a scalable, secure, and future-proof Azure platform.  - Each service scales independently, improving performance and cost control  - Deployments are faster, safer, and easier to manage  - The engineering team has full insight into application health and performance   This transformation has improved reliability and operational agility, enabling Brincr to support a fast-growing customer base with confidence, without increasing operational overhead.    ### **Technologies used:**   - Azure Container Apps - Azure Application Gateway + WAF - Azure Redis Cache - Azure Database for MySQL (Flexible Server) - Terraform - GitHub Actions - Azure Monitor - DataDog    ### **CloudNation Knows How**  By helping Brincr transition from a monolithic setup to a microservices architecture, CloudNation demonstrated how cloud-native design can combine performance, security, and flexibility, setting Brincr up for sustainable growth in the years ahead.  ![CloudNation-beeld-34-1](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/CloudNation-beeld-34-1.jpeg) ##### **Cloud Migration** ## From on-premise to future-ready [Learn more about cloud migration ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/services/cloud-migration) ## More success stories [![Greenwheels fotografiebeeld avond](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/Greenwheels%20fotografiebeeld%20avond.jpg) Azure ## Greenwheels accelerates because of migration to Azure cloud Read more ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/success-stories/greenwheels) [![Vive applicatie](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/Vive%20applicatie.jpg) aws ## Financial start-up VIVE can't do without the cloud Read more ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/success-stories/vive) [![cloud-workplace-1](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/cloud-workplace-1.jpg) app migration ## How we migrated the CubicEyes app to AWS Read more ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/succesverhalen/how-we-migrated-the-cubiceyes-app-to-aws/) Follow us: ##### Contact Kosterijland 10 3981 AJ Bunnik [![blue-chat-icon](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/Development%20assets/blue-chat-icon.svg)   Chat with us ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/brincrs-transformation-to-a-scalable-azure-microservices-platform#hs-chat-open) [![blue-phone-call](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/Development%20assets/blue-phone-call.svg)   +31 (0)6 48 016 896 ](tel:0031648016896) [![blue-mail](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/Development%20assets/blue-mail.svg)   info@cloudnation.nl ](mailto:info@cloudnation.nl) ![iso 27001](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/iso%2027001.svg)  ![gdpr compliant](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/gdpr%20compliant.svg)   ![iso 27001](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/iso%2027001.svg)  ![gdpr compliant](https://www.cloudnation.nl/hubfs/gdpr%20compliant.svg)   ##### CloudNation [ About CloudNation ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/about-us) [ Careers ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/werken-bij) [ CloudNation Academy ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/cloud-academy) [ Contact ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/contact) ##### Partners [ All our partners ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/partners) [ AWS ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/partners/amazon-web-services#aws-partner) [ Azure ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/partners#microsoft-azure-partner) [ And lots more ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/en/partners) ##### Knowledge, howto's and insights of CloudNation in your mailbox ![aws logo](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/aws-logo-black-22.svg) ![Microsoft Azure logo](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/azure-black.svg) ![Oracle Cloud Infrastructure logo](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/Oracle%20Cloud%20Infrastructure%20-%20black.svg) ![Google Cloud logo](https://7979774.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/7979774/Google%20Cloud%20-%20black.svg) [ CloudNation © 2024](##) [ Terms](https://www.cloudnation.nl/terms) [ Privacy ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/privacy-policy-cookie-statement) [ Cookies ](https://www.cloudnation.nl/cookie-declaration) [ Made by Bright](https://www.brightdigital.com)
