GreenWheels was founded in 1995 and has experienced enormous growth over the last years as part of the Volkswagen & Pon group. To support the expansion in Europe, GreenWheels has selected cloud as their solution to provide flexible and agile infrastructure for their software platform.
Innvolve and CloudNation were selected as their partners to support their cloud journey and make GreenWheels self-supporting in their infrastructure in the Azure cloud.
At the start of the project we performed an assessment using our online training platform. Based on that, the development and IT operations team received a custom trainingplan to build their skills in cloud.
Two mainstreams of platforms were in use at Greenwheels; the applications which were written in Java and the applications which are build on the Microsoft .Net Framework. The Java applications were already containerized in the on-premise setup and have been migrated to the Azure Kubernetes Service.
The Azure Kubernetes platform is built based on community best-practices to provide the best platform for scalability, resiliency and security. The .Net applications have been migrated to an App Service platform to provide a smooth transition from the ISS stack to the Azure platform.
Our challenge was to coach the GreenWheels developers and operations team in being able to perform their Cloud Transformation and provide a quickstart using our Azure Landing Zone.
The tools used to deploy all infrastructure, services and operations includes
I’ve enabled one of our clients to transform from a traditional datacenter hosted application landscape to Azure Service Fabric. From the business case, the high level design, infrastructure as code pipeline to the actual application transition I’ve been the frontrunner.
I like to play a leading-role in the “cloud team” at the client, helping to make the cloud journey a success using our deep knowledge, experience and best-practices of AWS.
